
A former federal prosecutor and defense attorney for rapper Lil Kim was said to be arrested and charged with conspiring to kill a witness in a drug case. According to the Associated Press, Paul Bergrin, was indicted in a five-year-old murder by a grand jury in Newark, New Jersey and charged in the death of an informant who was preparing to testify against a client.
Bergin was reportedly heard on tape requesting a hit on an Illinois resident.
The assassin recorded their conversations and is cooperating in the case, prosecutors said.
If convicted, Bergrin faces the death penalty or a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
